Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating Maxwell is preparing the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request are unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was provided directions about instructing her contacts to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
